Complete guide to safely install, maintain and care for your shelves with invisible fasteners
CUBRO shelves are the perfect solution for adding an elegant, minimalist decorative touch to your space. Their invisible mounting creates a light, airy effect, ideal for displaying decorative objects, small accessories, or spices, keeping things tidy without cluttering the room.
They are the perfect complement to your furniture and add personality to any wall.
Limits of use
To ensure you can enjoy your shelves in complete safety, it is important to bear in mind their limits:
- Maximum depth: 200 mm (the maximum supported by the concealed fittings).
- Maximum recommended weight: 15 kg per shelf.
- Recommended use: decorative or lightweight items. They are not designed to support heavy loads.
- The wall where the shelf is installed is key to its safety.
Available dimensions
- 200 x 600 mm → machining for 2 fittings
- 200 x 800 mm → machining for 2 fittings
- 200 x 1200 mm → machining for 3 fittings
Material
The same as the fronts, with identical thickness and finish.
If you need a shelf with some other dimension, it will be shipped unmachined and without fittings, so we recommend ordering it in the standard dimensions
Safe Installation with Italiana Ferramenta fittings
TInstallation is key to ensuring the strength and durability of your shelves:
- ✅ Brick wall: the most recommended option.
- ✅ Reinforced plasterboard: acceptable if there is double board or MDF reinforcement behind it.
- ❌ Never install on: single plasterboard, hollow walls, uneven or out-of-square walls.
Italiana Ferramenta hardware allows for precise adjustment, with tilt control and an anti-tip system, to ensure a solid and discreet fit.
⚠️ If you hire CUBRO to install your project and the installer determines that the wall is not suitable, the shelf will not be installed. In this case, it will be the customer's responsibility to reinforce the wall and then arrange for the shelf to be installed on their own.
Cutting Standard Shelves
Standard shelves can be cut to size, provided that the following conditions are met:
- The same measurement must be cut at both ends to maintain the balance of the hidden fittings.
- In WOOD or LACQUER finishes, if you cut the shelf, the MDF core will be visible. This does not affect its strength, but may require the application of edging to maintain a uniform appearance.
👉 For larger cuts, we recommend ordering the shelf in the final size without machining and using alternative supports.
Installation of Non-Machined Shelves
To ensure safe installation, we recommend using brackets or supports that provide additional stability, especially for high-load applications. CUBRO does not provide brackets.
If choosing invisible fixation without brackets:
- It is essential that the shelves are installed on reinforced walls with a double board or MDF interior panel.
- The quality of the wall is the customer’s responsibility, who must ensure it can support the shelf’s weight and use the appropriate hardware for the wall type.
- On drywall walls, specific support anchors must be used, and the load must be limited to a maximum of 5 kg.
- Shelves should not be installed on hollow, uneven, or misaligned walls.
- You can use an invisible hardware Ø100mm similar to these.
