Installation Guide: Side Panels

According to IKEA recommendations

By following these steps, you will achieve a secure and stable installation of side panels on your furniture.

Necessary Tools

  • Side panel to install
    • For base or tall cabinets of ⤡ 60 cm depth, they usually measure ↔ 62.3 cm to align with the front, or 64,6 if it is an island.
    • For wall cabinets of ⤡ 37 cm depth, they usually measure ↔ 39.6 cm to align with the front.
    • For PAX wardrobes, they usually measure ↔ 60.5 or ↔ 37.5 cm to align with the front door depending on whether the structure measures ⤡ 58 or ⤡ 35 cm in depth.
  • Screws PZ up to 3.5 cm in length
  • Clamp
  • Drill or screwdriver

Instructions

1. Panel Placement

  • Position the side panel correctly, aligned with the side of the cabinet, protruding 2 cm or so to absorb the front face. If it is an island, it will have to protrude 2 cm on each side.
  • Use a clamp to firmly hold the panel against the furniture frame. This will prevent movement during installation.

2. Fixing with Screws

  • For base or wall cabinets: Attach the panel from inside the cabinet using 2 screws (one at the top and one at the bottom).
  • For tall cabinets: Use 4 screws for better stability (two at the top and two at the bottom).

3. Review and Adjustments

  • Ensure the panel is properly aligned.
  • Carefully remove the clamp.
  • Make sure the screws are properly tightened but not excessively to avoid damage.
