Installation Guide: Dishwasher Front

Quick guide by model

Whether your dishwasher is equipped with a door or two drawer fronts, our fronts are by default machined to use IKEA's VÅGLIG sliding hardware.

Our recommendation is therefore to choose an IKEA model, which offers a wide range of prices and ranges and are 100% integrable with the CUBRO model.

Please take a look below to find instructions for installing the sliding CUBRO door in each case:

  1. ↔60 cm IKEA dishwasher
  2. ↔60 cm Non-IKEA dishwasher
  3. ↔45 cm dishwasher

1. ↔60 cm IKEA dishwasher

It will be one of these, and a VÅGLIG unit will be indispensable:

Refer to the IKEA instructions and use the perforations provided on the front.

If you want your dishwasher front to have drawer fronts instead of one door, we highly recommend choosing an IKEA 60 cm model, as we cannot guarantee that the VÅGLIG hardware will work with another model, and therefore the two fronts cannot be joined together easily

2. ↔60 cm Non-IKEA Dishwashers

Dishwashers are probably the most complex panel-ready appliances to integrate into the CUBRO system. This is because many manufacturers still produce dishwashers designed for kitchens with cabinet heights of ↕72–76 cm, whereas IKEA uses ↕80 cm.

To be compatible with a CUBRO front, these requirements must be met:

  • Sliding door: Sliding doors allow for an 80 cm front panel, aligned with adjacent cabinets, while still enabling full dishwasher opening.

  • Sufficient space inside for the plinth, ideally 12 cm. If there’s less space, you will need to move the feet of all the base units in that section forward to maintain a continuous plinth. See our skirting board installation guide.

AEG / Electrolux

These models must follow this diagram, and in both cases, choose Option B from the manufacturer.

Installation guide:

  1. You do not need to buy the VÅGLIG fitting. The installer must drill the CUBRO front panel according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

  2. Raise the dishwasher to 860 mm to accommodate an 800 mm front panel.

  3. Position the CUBRO door ↑2–3 cm above the appliance.

  4. When opened, there will be a gap between the dishwasher and the countertop, which can be covered with an internal filler strip. For this filler you can take excess baseboards or panels that you cut out during assembly.

Balay, Bosch or Siemens

In general, these brands have two models, both compatible if they have sliding doors:

  • Model that supports doors up to 765 mm
  • Model that supports doors up to 815 mm

Please note:

  • Both require modifying the baseboard plan by bringing it forward, as IKEA places its legs at 12 cm and this model only has 10 cm. Check out our baseboard installation guide.
  • Although in the first case the manufacturer specifies that the door must be a maximum of 765 mm high and ours is 798 mm, it is possible to install the front with a small hack thanks to IKEA's VÅGLIG hardware.

1. Door model up to 765 mm

For these models, you must measure the distance between the upper plastic piece and the lower hardware, which should be 26 mm:

The VÅGLIG, on the other hand, has 31 cm between its corresponding holes, so we will need to cut it 5 cm in the center (2.5 cm up and 2.5 cm down from the middle of the hardware) to leave them at 26 cm and make it compatible.

Once cut, you can use the front's machining and proceed with the installation.

  1. Screw the VÅGLIG to the front using the cut-outs.
  2. Place the dishwasher in its niche.
  3. Place the front on the dishwasher door following the manufacturer's instructions.
  4. You will need to raise the dishwasher 3 cm upwards so that the front is flush with the adjacent doors or drawers.
  5. When opened, there will be a gap between the top of the dishwasher and the countertop, which can be closed with an interior cover. You can take material for this cover from the excess baseboards or panels that you cut during assembly.

⚠️ Important: with this dishwasher model, we cannot install two or more drawer fronts, because the hardware that holds them together will be cut off and therefore will not fulfill its function.

2. Door model up to 815 mm

In this model, the distance between the two fittings is 31 cm, making it perfectly compatible with the VÅGLIG.

3. ↔45 cm Dishwasher

If it's IKEA, it will be one of these models:

In this case, it is not necessary to buy VAGLIG. The assembler will have to do the perforations of the CUBRO front following either the IKEA machining template. or manufacturer's

Since our front comes machined for the VÅGLIG, you can use one of the holes for the metal part that comes with the dishwasher. The lower one will need to be sacrificed, and you’ll have to drill two new ones, so you will only use 3 out of the 4 holes.

⚠️ Important: with this dishwasher model, we cannot install two or more drawer fronts, because the hardware that holds them together will be cut off and therefore will not fulfill its function.

If your dishwasher is not compatible with IKEA system:

To make it compatible, it must be mounted with the IKEA dishwasher adapter: BEHJÄLPLIG. From CUBRO we are not fans of the adapter, as it complicates the assembly of the door and requires disassembly when removing the dishwasher in cases of maintenance.  In addition, it is advisable to check the stock, because it is not always available in all markets.

Therefore, we recommend only models compatible with the IKEA system.
