Steps to follow
Integrated handles provide a sleek and functional design, but their back panel may need to be removed for repairs or replacement. Since it is typically secured with mounting adhesive, using a safe removal method is essential to prevent damage to the furniture.
Procedure for Removing the Back Piece
- Apply Water: Dampen a cloth with water and place it over the glued area for a few minutes. This will help weaken the adhesive.
- Leverage Gently: Use a small spatula or a round-tipped knife to gently pry the piece. Move slowly to avoid chipping the surface.
- Remove the Piece: Once the adhesive has softened enough, carefully detach the back piece by applying light, gradual pressure.
Reattaching the New One
To reattach the back piece of the handle, two types of adhesives can be used:
- Mounting adhesive: Provides a strong and durable bond.
- Wood glue: Suitable for secure adhesion on wooden surfaces.
