Cleaning LINOLEUM doors and drawers

LINOLEUM Maintenance

To ensure the durability and long-term attractiveness of your linoleum fronts, it is important to carry out ongoing maintenance with the right cleaning products and, on occasion, apply protective care products. Here are some tips on how best to maintain linoleum.

Regular cleaning

Clean with a damp cloth, optionally a pH-neutral detergent can be used. Remove stains immediately after spillage.

Occasional deep cleaning

Apply a 5 % solution of a pH-neutral detergent in water:

  • Let soak for 10 minutes.
  • Scrub the surface gently with a soft brush.
  • Collect dirty water.
  • Rinse with clean water and allow surface to dry.
  • Apply a thin maintenance film of undiluted Forbo Monel.
  • Polish vigorously with a clean (new) cotton/cloth cloth.

Preventive measures and stain removal.

  • Sharp items may cause scratches; if in doubt, use soft protection.
  • Remove stains immediately after spillage (such as ink, coffee, tea, red wine).
  • Prevent stubborn stains from forming; use coasters under pots, vases, cups, etc.
  • For stubborn stains such as ink and pencil, use a clean cloth and a neutral cleaner. Please note that linoleum is an organic material.

Therefore, we do not recommend the use of linoleum in areas with high water impact and strong chemicals, including alkaline cleaners that can degrade linoleum.

A good tip: always opt for a pH-neutral detergent. Soap flakes are an excellent alternative for linoleum care. When dealing with linoleum fronts, treatment should only be applied to the visible side.
