LAMINATE Maintenance

Guide to caring for your laminate fronts:

Regular maintenance

As with any other material used in interior design, it is important to keep your laminate surfaces clean on a regular basis. They require no special care, simply use a damp cloth with warm water or a mild detergent. Most common cleaning products and disinfectants are safe to use. For common stains, a non-abrasive cloth with warm water is usually sufficient. For more stubborn stains, non-abrasive household cleaners or solvents can be used. If the stains are old or stubborn, a magic sponge or soft cloth may help to remove them. After using any solvent, it is recommended that the surface be thoroughly rinsed with warm water and detergent, making sure to completely remove any detergent residue.

For stubborn stains and minor scratches

Fenix laminate surfaces are designed with a non-porous outer layer, making them easy to clean with simple daily care and cleaning methods. In the case of stubborn stains, it is recommended to use a specific stain cleaner to remove any traces of stain. After cleaning or using the magic sponge, rinse thoroughly with clean, preferably lukewarm water to ensure that any residue of detergent, solvent or other cleaning agent is removed.

Cleaning tips and hacks

  • To get the best results when cleaning laminate surfaces, keep the following tips in mind: Although they are very resistant, avoid using products containing abrasive substances, macro-abrasive sponges or unsuitable materials such as sandpaper or steel wool.
  • Also avoid highly acidic or alkaline products, as they may stain the surface. Do not use bleach or highly chlorinated products, as they may degrade the laminate.
  • If you use sodium hypochlorite, make sure its concentration is less than 5% and do not leave it in contact with the surface for more than 5 minutes at a time. Then rinse thoroughly with a sponge or towel. If hydrogen peroxide is used, make sure its concentration is less than 3% and rinse thoroughly. Avoid leaving this solution in contact with the surface for more than 10 minutes at a time and rinse thoroughly with a non-abrasive sponge before drying.
  • If solvents are used, make sure the cloth is perfectly clean to avoid leaving marks on the laminate surface. Any remaining marks can be removed by rinsing with warm water and drying thoroughly.
  • Avoid using furniture waxes or wax-based cleaners, as they can leave a sticky film that attracts and holds dirt. Avoid using metal scrapers, iron brushes or other metal tools to remove stains, paint, plaster or other substances from the surface.
